Highbourne Cay North Anchorage

24° 43.5′ N · 76° 49.5′ W

A narrow, secluded bight at the north end of Highbourne that gives noticeably better shelter than the main west anchorage and puts you within dinghy range of the coral heads on the Exuma Sound side.

Practical

Settled conditions only - it is small and the entry is narrow. Sand bottom, good holding. A reef extends west from the north-west tip of the cay: give it a wide berth on approach and enter with the sun high. Room for only a handful of boats.

Best for

Quiet night close to the Sound-side reefs
