MV Maverick Wreck Dive

11° 12.0′ N · 60° 48.3′ W · approximate

A former Trinidad-Tobago ferry scuttled in 1997, now sitting upright on sand at about 100 ft off the Caribbean coast near Mount Irvine, wrapped in silversides and purple sea fans.

Practical

Position is approximate, a general point off Mount Irvine Bay derived from sources that place the wreck 'close to Mt Irvine' on the south-west Caribbean coast; it is not a wreck fix, so dive it with an operator, who uses one of Tobago's few dive moorings here. Depth about 100 ft to the sand, upper deck about 60 ft; usually no current; parts of the interior can be entered but silt up easily. Advanced/deep-qualified divers only; watch time and depth.
