Mount Irvine Bay Anchorage
11° 11.7′ N · 60° 47.9′ W · approximate
A pretty bay on the Caribbean coast north of Buccoo, backed by Tobago's first golf course and a popular local beach, with clear water for snorkelling and the island's best surf breaking on the point in winter.
Practical
Position is a point about 300 m off Mount Irvine Bay Beach, derived from OpenStreetMap coastline (approx). Noforeignland reviewers (page updated March 2026) report good holding in sand at about 7-20 ft, pleasant snorkelling and a nice local bar, with occasional rolliness. Noonsite (2024) says the public beach has a tap with good water: the most convenient water for boats based at Store Bay (by jerry can). Mount Irvine Fish Market sits by the beach (OpenStreetMap). In the November-February season big winter swells make breakers on the main beach (Rough Guides), so expect roll then. Within the Scarborough clearance zone.
Best for
A quieter alternative to Store Bay with water ashore
Season
Best Mar-Oct; rolly in winter north swells
