Grand Mal Reef (Grand Mal Wall)
12° 4.2′ N · 61° 45.7′ W · approximate
Grand Mal Reef is a serpentine wall north of St George's harbour, one of the few true wall dives on Grenada, with pinnacles and canyons and a reef edge riddled with holes for lobster. It is a popular drift dive.
Practical
Position is approximate: no published mark was found, so it is placed about 0.4 nm off the shore of Grand Mal Bay, south-west of the anchorage, in the water. Depth 20–90 ft (6–28 m) per Eco Dive; a diver-log listing puts the reef crest at about 2 m and the wall to about 35 m. Large tarpon are occasionally reported. The Hildur, sunk as an artificial reef in 2007, lies a little off the wall at about 36 m. Done as a drift with an operator.
