Bianca C Wreck

12° 3.2′ N · 61° 45.5′ W

The Bianca C is a 180 m Italian cruise liner that caught fire in St George's harbour in October 1961, was towed out and sank. Called the 'Titanic of the Caribbean', she sits upright in about 50 m and is among the best-known wreck dives anywhere.

Practical

Position is the Wikipedia/GeoHack coordinate; dive boats use their own marks. Depth: the top of the wreck is about 30 m and the keel about 50 m (Wikipedia, GTA). Divers can drop into an upper-deck swimming pool. The stern third broke away in 1992. Wikivoyage warns that current sweeps the superstructure, so it is done as a drift dive, and that penetrating the corroding interior has cost lives. It is for experienced, deep-qualified divers only, with a local operator. Do not anchor over it.
