Cumberland Beach Park Yacht Services (stern lines, water, showers, laundry)
13° 16.0′ N · 61° 15.6′ W
The national-park welcome centre at the head of Cumberland Bay is the yachts' base here: jetty, water, ice, internet, showers and laundry, plus the beach bar and restaurant, with local helpers taking stern lines to the palms.
Practical
Position from OpenStreetMap (Cumberland Beach & Recreation Park). Mooring set-up: there are no published moorings; you drop the bow anchor in the deep bay and run a stern line to a palm or to one of the spikes locals have set ashore (Running Tide, 2014; Noonsite). Local helpers row out to take the line; tip them, and agree any price first. The park (co-managed by the Cumberland Valley Ecotourism Organisation) is open 8am to 6pm; restaurant 7am to 9pm, later for Saturday karaoke; laundry 7am to 7pm daily. Fees for non-nationals: laundry US$15 per load (wash only), shower US$3, washroom US$1 (National Parks site, undated; verify locally). Facilities: welcome centre, restrooms, restaurant and bar, gift shop, jetty, showers, laundry and boat services (water, ice, internet). Noonsite (May 2025): clear in at Wallilabou or Chateaubelair first, or risk a fine. Security: four thefts from yachts here in January and February 2023 and the dinghy dock is a theft target; lock the dinghy and the boat. The nearby Cumberland Nature Trail has been officially closed since January 30, 2017.
