Wallilabou Beach
13° 14.9′ N · 61° 16.2′ W · approximate
The small dark-sand beach at the head of Wallilabou Bay, framed by the weathered Port Royal sets from Pirates of the Caribbean, with the river and the heritage park just behind.
Practical
Coordinate is derived (approx): a node on the OpenStreetMap coastline at the head of the bay. Most crews come ashore at the Wallilabou Anchorage dock; a 2013 blog warns the old pier surges badly when the swell gets up after dark, so land early or use a stern anchor on the dinghy. Wallilabou Heritage Park (small waterfall and pool) is about 1 km up the valley; non-nationals pay US$5 (National Parks site, undated; verify locally). Security: Noonsite reports thefts off the old film dock on the north side of the bay; never leave the dinghy unlocked.
Best for
Wandering the Pirates of the Caribbean set after clearing in
Season
Nov-May; north-west swell makes landing difficult
