Barrouallie Shoreline Snorkel

13° 14.1′ N · 61° 16.5′ W · approximate

The rocky shoreline in front of Barrouallie fishing town, a mile south of Wallilabou, which a 2024 charter crew rated much better than Byahaut Point for a leeward-coast snorkel stop.

Practical

Coordinate is derived (approx): about 60 m off the OpenStreetMap coastline in front of Barrouallie town (Wikipedia gives the town at 13.2358 N, 61.2719 W). A March 2024 charter blog describes this as their second snorkel stop on the run north from the Grenadines, with better conditions than Byahaut Point. It is a day stop in calm weather, not an anchorage: the shore drops off steeply and this is a working fishing beach, home of the island's blackfish (pilot whale) fishery, so keep clear of fishing boats and nets.

Best for

A lunch-stop snorkel on the way to Wallilabou or Cumberland

Season

Calm, settled days; avoid in north-west swell
