Willy T (Norman Island)

18° 18.8′ N · 64° 37.1′ W

The William Thornton, a schooner-style floating bar and restaurant anchored in the Bight, famous for party nights and for guests jumping off the top deck into the sea.

Practical

Position is the OpenStreetMap 'Willi-T' node in the Bight. Its website (2026) lists it at The Bight, Norman Island; lunch 12 pm to 3 pm and dinner 6:30 pm to 9 pm; VHF 16 and 74; phone +1 284-340-8603. Menu prices on the site include conch fritters US$16 and fish and chips US$19 (verify locally). Reach it by dinghy from your mooring; Willy T's own advice is to watch boat traffic if you swim over. History: the original Willy T was blown ashore by Hurricane Irma in September 2017 (its hull was later sunk as the Willy T wreck dive off Key Bay, Peter Island); the replacement vessel was refused permission to anchor at Norman Island in 2018 and operated at Great Harbour, Peter Island (Noonsite, 2018), and the BVI government reversed its position in 2019, so older guides may place it at Peter Island. Expect late-night noise; pick a mooring away from it if you want sleep.
