Privateer Bay (Norman Island)
18° 18.8′ N · 64° 37.5′ W
A secluded bay on the west side of Treasure Point, south of the Caves, with moorings, decent snorkelling and open sunset views towards St John.
Practical
Position is the OpenStreetMap 'Privateer Bay' node on Norman Island (not the Privateer Bay on St John). Coast Pilot 5: safe anchorage with the regular trade wind. Yacht Warriors (2024): moorings available, well protected from east winds but rolly in other directions, and boats can be back-winded and swing about. Noonsite (2018) also lists moorings. The Caves are about 0.3 nm away by dinghy; the Willy T is reachable by dinghy.
Best for
A quieter mooring a short dinghy ride from the Caves
Season
East trades; rolly in southerly or northerly swell
