Hike· Norman Island· Virgin Islands (BVI, USVI and Spanish Virgins)
Spy Glass Hill Trail (Norman Island)
18° 19.1′ N · 64° 36.8′ W · approximate
Hiking paths climb from behind Pirates Bight onto the ridge of Norman Island, said to have been a pirate lookout, with views across the Drake Channel, St John and the southern chain.
Practical
Approximate position: the trail start behind the Pirates Bight beach (from the OpenStreetMap building outline); the summit position was not verified. Yacht Warriors (2024) says the trails start behind Pirates Bight and run along the island's ridge, and that Money Bay is visible from them; Pirates Bight says the island has numerous hiking trails. Goats roam the island (Noonsite: generally not aggressive, but keep clear). Take water, shoes and sun protection; there is no shade on the ridge and no facilities beyond the restaurant. The island is private: stay on the trails.
Best for
A sunset hike with a view over the whole southern chain
