Manta Season at Koh Bon (Feb–Apr)
8° 49.6′ N · 97° 48.0′ E
Plankton blooms in the second half of the dry season bring oceanic mantas to the Koh Bon and Koh Tachai cleaning stations.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM-mapped Koh Bon islet. Khao Lak Explorer gives the manta season as mid-October to mid-May, mostly early December to the end of April. Sea Bees says mantas are common at Koh Bon from January to May and most likely from February onward. Plankton lowers visibility to 15–20 m at these times. Oceanic mantas, up to about 7 m across, are the ones mostly seen here. Sightings are unpredictable, so more dives mean better odds.
