Hin Luang (Koh Bon Pinnacle)

8° 49.9′ N · 97° 48.0′ E · approximate

A small, perfectly formed pinnacle covered in tiny yellow soft corals (Hin Luang means 'yellow rock'), rising from the sand 200 m north of Koh Bon.

Practical

Approx: placed 200 m north of the OSM-mapped Koh Bon islet, as the operator describes. The top is at 18 m and the wall drops to about 45–50 m. There is no mooring line and the descent is fully exposed to current, so this is a negative-entry dive for intermediate to advanced divers (Khao Lak Scuba Adventures). Leopard sharks, marble rays and spotted eagle rays are on the deep side; Khao Lak Explorer lists the Koh Bon pinnacle among the better whale shark spots.

Best for

Advanced divers chasing pelagics
