Koh Tao Fuel and Water (Mae Haad, by jerry can)
10° 5.0′ N · 99° 49.6′ E
Koh Tao has no fuel dock or yacht water berth; diesel comes by jerry can from the small fuel stations on the Mae Haad pier road, a short walk from the dinghy landing.
Practical
Position is a fuel station on the Mae Haad pier road (OpenStreetMap); OpenStreetMap also lists 4P Plus Oils a few metres east, KTP on the road toward Chalok Baan Kao, and Jitsin and two others in Sairee village. Wikivoyage notes a gas station on the main road about 1 km south-east of the piers and warns that one red petrol station starts its meter above zero, so watch the pump. The SE Asia Pilot lists no fuel or water service for yachts on Koh Tao; it places fuel and water for yachts on Koh Samui: on the Ao Nathon jetty by arrangement only, or at the tour-company jetties of Bophut and Bangrak, where larger quantities can be pre-arranged with the nearby PTT station. For water, fill on Samui; on Koh Tao, buy drinking water by the bottle or 20 litre jug from the 7-Eleven and mini-marts.
