Koh Tao Dive Shops and Tank Fills (Mae Haad)

10° 5.1′ N · 99° 49.5′ E

With more than 70 dive operations, Koh Tao is one of the world's busiest dive-training islands, so equipment, servicing and compressed air are never far from the Mae Haad dinghy landing.

Practical

Position is Dive Supply, a scuba equipment shop beside the Mae Haad piers (OpenStreetMap, phone +66 77 456 162). OpenStreetMap maps more than 40 dive centres around Mae Haad, Sairee and Chalok Baan Kao, including Crystal Dive and Davy Jones' Locker beside the piers and New Heaven in Chalok; the SE Asia Pilot counts more than 70 dive operations. All run compressors to fill their own cylinders; no published price for filling a visiting yacht's tanks was found, so ask at the shop (cylinders usually need a current hydrostatic test and visual inspection). Dive boats may tie to a yacht's stern on dive-site moorings for a couple of hours (SE Asia Pilot).
