Emerald Lake (Thale Nai), Koh Mae Ko
9° 39.4′ N · 99° 40.0′ E
A green saltwater lake inside Koh Mae Ko, ringed by limestone cliffs and linked to the sea through underground caves; the platform above it is the most photographed view in Ang Thong.
Practical
Position is the OSM viewpoint over the lake (the lake itself is mapped at about 9.656, 99.666). About 240-300 steps (Thai Holiday Guide) or a 20-minute trail (thainationalparks.com) from the beach; Wikivoyage describes a strenuous climb of up to 40 minutes. Swimming in the lake is not allowed. Southeast Asia Pilot notes a platform on the beach before the jetty beach that leads to the lake and a cave. Covered by the Ang Thong park fee.
