Koh Phi (Ang Thong HQ reef hazard)
9° 38.4′ N · 99° 40.5′ E
A small islet just north of park headquarters on Koh Wua Ta Lap, whose surrounding reefs every yacht must give a wide berth on the approach to the HQ anchorage.
Practical
Position is the centre of the OSM Koh Phi outline (relation 5741976), about 600 m north of the Pilot's HQ anchorage. Southeast Asia Pilot: approach Koh Wua Ta Lap from the north or east, 'giving Koh Phi plenty of clearance to avoid underwater reefs'. The water in the park is turbid, so the reefs will not be visible. The Island Spirit guide (2023) mentions a mooring off 'the little island offshore' of HQ that is well protected; it does not name the island, so confirm with the rangers before using any buoy.
