Ban Phrao (Ban Maphrao) Pier, Koh Libong
7° 15.6′ N · 99° 23.9′ E
The main village pier on Koh Libong's northeast corner, where longtails from Hat Yao land and the island's only ATMs stand by the jetty.
Practical
OpenStreetMap maps the pier (way 1331247851) at Baan Maphrao village, two ATMs beside it, a green lateral buoy at about 7.2655, 99.3987 on the approach, and the Haad Yao - Ko Libong boat route running from here to Hat Yao (Ban Chao Mai) pier on the mainland. Wikipedia: the longtail trip from Hat Yao Ban Chao Mai pier takes about 30 minutes. Thai Wikipedia lists Ko Maphrao as Libong's main settlement; the population (about 3,500 in 2012) is mostly Muslim, so dress modestly ashore. The approach crosses shallow seagrass flats in the dugong preservation zone: dinghy in at half tide or better, dead slow. No fuel dock or water hose is published. Position: OpenStreetMap pier.
