9° 48.0′ N · 99° 59.3′ E · approximate
Lesser-known local reefs between Koh Ma and Chaloklum and off Phangan's southwest corner, variable in visibility but great when the water is clear.
Practical
Position approximate: the OpenStreetMap bay node for Ao Haad Thong Lang, between Mae Haad and Chaloklum. Koh Tae Nok, the outer islet off the southwest coast, is mapped by OpenStreetMap at 9.7046N 99.9471E, about 2.5 km west of the Thong Sala anchorage. Chaloklum Diving lists Ao Tong Lang, Koh Kong Kliang and Koh Tae Nok as local sites whose variable visibility makes them more seasonal, 'but great when it is OK'; no depths are published. Snorkel from the dinghy in calm weather, anchor only on sand, and ask the local dive shops about current visibility.
