Chaloklum Fishing Village

9° 47.2′ N · 100° 0.3′ E

Once lined with rows of squid drying on the beach, Chaloklum is still a working fishing village, with seafront Thai restaurants, a fish sauce factory, local street stalls and a laid-back, non-party atmosphere.

Practical

Position from Wikidata (Chalok Lam beach). Wikivoyage lists seafront Thai restaurants (Seaside Thai, Nong Nook), Panee's Corner opposite the 7-Eleven, Geni's Pizza on the water, and The World's End café opposite the main pier (7:30am–3pm and 6pm–10pm, Dec–Apr). Thai street stalls across from the 7-Eleven are where locals eat. Longtail taxi-boats to Bottle Beach leave from the village; Wikivoyage reported 100–150 THB a person (2016 figures, verify locally). Wat Chaloklum's daily ceremony at 7:30am welcomes visitors.
