Ao Po Village Jetty Anchorage
8° 3.3′ N · 98° 26.1′ E
A muddy-bottomed anchorage off the village of Ao Po, beside the 400 m jetty that is the departure point for Naka Noi pearl-farm trips and most Phang Nga Bay sea-canoe operators.
Practical
3-6 m, mud (SEAP). From the north, use either passage beside Koh Raet: in the eastern one, keep near Koh Naka Yai until 300 m south of Koh Raet, then turn NW into the bay (this avoids rocks detached from Koh Raet's southern fringing reef); in the western one, keep close to the marina entrance and follow the markers between the mainland and Koh Raet. From the south, keep close to Koh Naka Yai; three unmarked drying rocks are charted on the southern approach. Ashore: a few local shops, fuel, provisions, ice, and transport to Phuket City or the airport.
Best for
Cheap, sheltered waiting near Ao Po Grand Marina
