Praslin Dive Sites
4° 18.2′ S · 55° 45.0′ E · approximate
More than a dozen guided dive sites around Praslin and its islets, from coral gardens to steep granite walls, run by the dive centres on Côte d'Or and at Baie Ste Anne.
Practical
All diving must be guided by a local dive master; you cannot take rental gear on a charter yacht (Moorings eGuide). White Tip Divers keeps dives to about 20 m maximum, no-decompression, and picks the site on the day by weather; possible sightings include sharks, rays, turtles, barracuda and napoleon wrasse. Wikivoyage counts more than 17 dive sites; wannadive lists 13 under Praslin. Individual sites now have their own entries: St Pierre Islet, Monkey Rock, Big Mama (Roche Grand Maman), Whale Rock, Booby Island, Ave Maria Rocks, White Bank and Channel Rock (this file); Aride Bank and Amoujié Maman (Curieuse, Cousin and Aride file); South Marianne and the Sisters (La Digue file). Position approximate: the snorkel spot mapped off St Pierre, near the Côte d'Or dive centres.
