Anse Petite Cour Anchorage

4° 18.3′ S · 55° 44.2′ E · approximate

A small reef-fringed bay on Praslin's north coast facing Curieuse across the strait, which The Moorings lists as 'a peaceful and safe anchorage' for an overnight in the south-east trades, with good snorkelling off the beach.

Practical

Used as an overnight on The Moorings 14-day SE-wind itinerary; 'no formal facilities; enjoy a peaceful night on board.' The north coast is in the lee of Praslin in the SE trades. Inside, the water is shallow and reef-protected (SeyVillas), so anchor outside the reef in the approach from the Curieuse Strait and dinghy in. Monkey Rock, a shallow dive and snorkel rock, lies just north of the Domaine de La Réserve hotel on the cove (wannadive). The hotel's over-water restaurant is on the beach; non-guests may be restricted on the beach at busy times. Seaweed comes in at the start of the NW monsoon in December. Uncomfortable or untenable in northerly swell (Dec–Mar). No depths published in sources checked. Position approximate: about 400 m north of the OSM-mapped beach, east of Monkey Rock.
