Anse Boudin Anchorage

4° 17.6′ S · 55° 43.0′ E · approximate

A 950 m fishing beach on Praslin's north coast between Anse Lazio and Anse Possession, where local fishing boats lie at anchor in the shallows and the reef makes good snorkelling.

Practical

Extremely shallow inside, especially at low tide, deepening quickly away from the sand (SeyVillas); OSM notes swimming is possible only in select places at low water but snorkelling is fine. Anchor off the reef edge outside the local boats in settled weather; it faces north, so it is in Praslin's lee in the SE trades and open to northerly swell in the NW monsoon. No cruising-guide depths or holding found in the sources checked. Ashore: snack and curio shops, an excursion counter for Curieuse and Cousin trips, and the road over to Anse Lazio. Position approximate: about 400 m north-east of the OSM-mapped bay point.

Best for

Calm-day snorkel and a look at the local fishing fleet
