Roche Harbor Anchorage (San Juan Island)

48° 36.5′ N · 123° 9.6′ W · approximate

The bay off the resort is landlocked by Henry and Pearl Islands and makes a sheltered anchorage with the resort's shops and restaurants a short dinghy ride away. It is very full on summer weekends.

Practical

Position is approximate, in the open water west of the resort docks. Depths 4-9 fathoms (24-54 ft, 7-16 m) (Coast Pilot). Main entrance between Henry Island and Pearl Island (light on Pearl); sandspits with 17-18 ft (5 m) over them reach into the channel from both sides. Do not enter between Pearl Island and San Juan Island. Posey Island State Park in the harbour is for kayaks and canoes. Ask the marina about dinghy dock use. Leave room for swinging boats and the floatplane area off the resort. Shelter is good from all directions.
