Punta Final Coves Anchorage (Gonzaga)
29° 44.8′ N · 114° 17.9′ W · approximate
Fjord-like rocky canyons tucked inside the hook of Punta Final at the south end of Bahía San Luis Gonzaga — the spot The Log singles out for real south-wind shelter on this remote stretch of Baja.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate: about 2 nm SW of Punta Final's northern tip (OSM node 29.7719 N, 114.2718 W), the position The Log gives for good shelter, set in the water off the convoluted OSM coastline. The Log: shelter is about two miles SW of Punta Final's northern tip (Snoopy Rock); from there tuck into the fjord-like canyons to port. Avoid the wind-swept beaches west of the Punta Final camping village. No depths or bottom type in the source — approach slowly, sound, and expect a big northern-Gulf tide range. Open to the north — move into Willard Bay if a norther is forecast. Punta Final has a camping village and homes; no marine services.
