Punta Bufeo Anchorage

29° 54.7′ N · 114° 26.5′ W · approximate

A small headland anchorage about six miles up the coast from Willard Bay, beside a tiny village — a useful stop between Puertecitos and Gonzaga.

Practical

Coordinate is approximate: just west of the Punta Bufeo headland (OSM node 29.9103 N, 114.4366 W), placed in the water north of the point's shoreline. The Log: anchor close west of the headland near the small village. If rain comes with southerly winds, avoid the flash-flood-prone beaches NW of the point. Big hazard: a delta shoal extends about two miles SW from Isla San Luis (OSM island centroid 29.969 N, 114.409 W); it breaks at low tide and in strong wind — give it a wide berth on passage. No depths in the source — sound in. No services.
