An open beach roadstead off the resort village of Puerto Arista, on the east side of the Gulf of Tehuantepec: a comfortable last night on the beach route, leaving an easy run into Puerto Chiapas the next day.

Approximate: placed just offshore of the Wikipedia coordinate for Puerto Arista (15.9333, -93.8085). Practical Sailor (2025) found the east side near Puerto Arista comfortable. Roads Less Traveled describes the inshore 'safety zone' along this coast as about 40 ft over sand roughly 0.2 nm off the beach, where seas stay much flatter than offshore (2012). About 32 km of open ocean beach with a state sea-turtle sanctuary west of town. Open to the south; leave if swell builds.
