Isla Montosa Dive Site (Bahía Conejos)
15° 45.9′ N · 96° 5.0′ W
A small rocky islet off Bahía Conejos at the east end of the Huatulco bays, where walls with gorgonian fans and cup corals drop to boulders, caves and overhangs, and the exposed side draws jacks and pelagics.
Practical
Position is the OpenStreetMap islet Isla Montosa (relation 1701152). Huatulco Dive Center lists 'La Montosa Island' as an advanced site; DivePlannerPro notes calmer leeward faces and stronger current on the windward side. No published depth range was found. Coral was badly hit by the 2023 marine heat wave. Use a shop boat or anchor well clear on sand in Bahía Conejos (see 'Bahía Conejos Anchorage (Huatulco)').
