Isla Cacaluta 'La Jeringa' Dive Site

15° 43.1′ N · 96° 9.7′ W

The rocky island off the mouth of Bahía Cacaluta, a Huatulco national-park dive site called 'La Jeringa' with a rocky reef full of life.

Practical

Position is the OpenStreetMap centroid of Isla Cacaluta; the dive is on the reef around it. Listed by Buceo Huatulco (La Crucecita; +52 958 100 4285; prices on request). Other sites on its list: Punta Maguey (octopus, turtles, lobster, spotted rays), Isla La Blanca (clear water, rock walls) and Bahía de Chahué (courses and first dives). Inside the national park: no fishing or collecting. Wikivoyage notes most of Huatulco's coral died in the 2023 marine heat wave, so expect rock and fish life more than living coral.

Best for

A guided park dive or a snorkel off Cacaluta
