Cedros North Anchorage ('Cedros Island Yacht Club')
28° 21.0′ N · 115° 11.3′ W · approximate
A narrow anchoring ledge in about 45 ft on the east side of Isla Cedros' north headland, jokingly called the 'Cedros Island Yacht Club' because northbound boats only stop here when weather pins them before the Bahía Vizcaíno crossing.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate: The Log puts the ledge 2 to 2.5 nm south-east of Punta Cedros Light on the north headland; the pin is placed off the east shore of the OpenStreetMap island outline at that distance - sound your way in. Punta Norte fish camp nearby has a dozen seasonal shacks, no water or electricity. Shelter from NW only. Southbound, this is the landfall after the 85 nm offshore hop from Sacramento Reef, followed by a 21 nm lee down the east side of the island.
Best for
Waiting out northwesterlies before crossing Vizcaíno
