Punta Eugenia
27° 50.9′ N · 115° 4.9′ W
The westernmost hook of the Vizcaíno Peninsula and the corner every Baja boat turns: north of it lies Bahía Vizcaíno and Cedros, south of it Turtle Bay and the long reach to Mag Bay.
Practical
Coordinate from the OpenStreetMap cape node. Pass about 2 nm west of Punta Eugenia Light, then point-hop 17 nm south-east to Turtle Bay (The Log). Fog is common: The Log's author, northbound in dense fog, nearly crossed the tow cable of a tug with a barge a mile astern - listen for 'remolcador' (tug with tow) on VHF 16. A small fishing village sits at the point (OSM).
