Puerto Morro Redondo (El Morro Salt Port)

28° 1.9′ N · 115° 11.2′ W

The deep-water salt transshipment port at Isla Cedros' south-east tip, where salt barged from Guerrero Negro is loaded onto ships - a traffic hazard more than a destination.

Practical

Position from GeoNames ('Morro Redondo', port). The Log: be alert for ship and barge traffic crossing to and from Cedros Town and the El Morro salt docks, and lay the 12 nm course to the Natividad-Eugenia gap from about 1.5 nm east of the El Morro salt piles. Tugs tow barges on long cables - never cross between a tug and its tow (The Log's Punta Eugenia fog story). The island airport is beside the company town (Wikipedia).
