River Wharf (Barbuda Ferry Dock)

17° 35.4′ N · 61° 49.3′ W

Barbuda's only real wharf, on the south coast at River. The Antigua ferries land passengers and cargo here, and the island's freight comes in here too.

Practical

Coordinate verified: OpenStreetMap ferry-terminal node and Wikipedia (River Dock, N17 35.42 W061 49.28). Small and very busy, with container traffic, ferries and fishing boats, so it is not a yacht berth: anchor off River Beach and land the dinghy on the beach toward the Martello Tower. Barbuda Express / Sea Bridge ferries run from St John's (and sometimes Crabbes) on Antigua, about 90 minutes, usually 6 days a week. Book via seabridgeferries.com or +1 268 764 2291 or +1 268 560 7989. Ferries cancel in rough weather. It is 15 minutes by road to Codrington, with no taxi rank, so pre-book a taxi. The ferry is handy for crew changes.
