Ilet a Cabrit Moorings

15° 52.4′ N · 61° 35.8′ W · approximate

The LSM mooring field off the southwest shore of Ilet à Cabrit, the uninhabited island that half-closes the Baie des Saintes - quieter than town, with the ruined Fort Joséphine on the hill behind.

Practical

Position approx: off Anse Sous-le-Vent on the SW side of the islet (OSM bay node 15.87407,-61.59727); Noonsite lists one of the four LSM fields here. LSM, VHF 8, same fees as the town field. Noonsite notes one area where anchoring is permitted to the south, opposite Ilet a Cabrit, behind the yellow buoys - confirm the current boundary with LSM before dropping the hook; a 2014 report said anchoring off Cabrit itself was refused while larger yachts anchored in 20 m+ well off. The islet sits between Passe de la Baleine (east) and Passe du Pain de Sucre (south). Dive sites Pointe à Cabrit, La Bombarde and Ti Jardin are close by.

Best for

A quieter mooring with a fort hike ashore
