Cow Rocks

17° 12.8′ N · 62° 37.3′ W

A cluster of rocks just breaking the surface in the Narrows north of Nevis - a navigational hazard that doubles as a lively snorkel spot for strong swimmers in calm weather.

Practical

ActiveCaptain: the rocks show only a few feet above water at most and are very hard to see at night. Snorkel only in calm conditions by dinghy or with a temporary anchor in the sand beside the rocks; it is always a bit agitated, current can be strong, and you should not go alone or fish. Wikipedia names the Cow and Calf Rocks off northwest Nevis.

Best for

An adventurous snorkel in settled weather
