A small patch reef in the shallow, sheltered bay at Oualie on the north tip of Nevis - an easy first snorkel next to the dive shop, with Cow Rocks and Booby Island a short dinghy ride away for stronger swimmers.
Practical
Position is approximate - off the north end of Oualie Beach between the beach and the mooring field. Sand entry, easy (The Trip Verdict). Dive Nevis (Scuba Safaris) on the beach runs guided Snorkel Safaris and dive trips to Booby Island, Monkey Shoals and the St Kitts sites. Water taxis run to and from the pier all day - keep a float and keep clear of the taxi lane. Newcastle Bay, east toward the airport, has eagle rays but is best reached by boat.
