Xigia Sulphur Springs
37° 52.1′ N · 20° 44.2′ E
Mineral-rich water from sulphur springs flows into the sea at Xigia, turning the water milky and warm in patches; round the cape, the 'White Cave' is one of the best snorkels on the north-east coast.
Practical
Coordinate is the White Cave (SailingIssues); take the dinghy round the green headland from the Xigia anchorage. The springs smell strongly of sulphur and the water from the cave is cold (zanteisland.com). The beach is small and pebbly; come for a short, memorable swim (Wikivoyage). Several more grottos lie nearby.
Best for
Snorkelling a sulphur-spring cave by dinghy
