West Antipaxos Anchorage

39° 9.1′ N · 20° 13.0′ E

A rarely busy day anchorage off a small beach on the west coast of Antipaxos, away from the Voutoumi crowds. In true calm it is a good spot to see the wilder side of the island.

Practical

mySea gives 3-8 m and calls it a 'nice day anchorage on calm weather situation in front of a nice beach'. It is open to the prevailing NW-W breeze and swell, so leave once the afternoon wind fills in. Greek Wikipedia notes that monk seals breed in the Kalogiros cave near Cape Kontari on this coast, under coast guard supervision; stay well clear of any seal cave.

Best for

A calm-morning escape from the day-boat crowds

Season
