Kaltsonisi Anchorage (Gkrava)
39° 10.8′ N · 20° 12.6′ E
A small anchorage tucked under Kaltsonisi, the islet just east of Mongonisi. A private villa with a mock-medieval tower stands on the islet, and the tiny chapel of St Spyridon dates from 1686.
Practical
mySea gives 2.5-3.2 m over sand, mud and weed. It is shallow, with room for only a few boats, so approach slowly and sound. Exposed to E-SE. Wikipedia says the Agnelli family built a holiday home on the islet; it is private, so do not land. Paxos Map lists the restored chapel of St Spyridon on Kaltsonisi (1686, restored 1750).
Best for
Overflow or a lunch stop when Mongonisi Bay is packed
