Tripitos Arch
39° 10.7′ N · 20° 11.0′ E
A natural rock bridge spanning the sea off the SW cliffs of Paxos near Makratika, one of the island's best-known formations. Visit Greece calls it 'an imposing natural stone arch resembling a bridge over the Ionian'.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM arch node; a mapped viewpoint sits just above it (39.17898N 20.18341E) and is a walk from Gaios via Makratika. From seaward, view it only in calm conditions. The coast here is steep-to cliff with no anchorage, and westerly swell rebounds off the rock. Do not try to pass under it in a yacht.
Best for
Photo stop on a west-coast cruise, or a short hike from Gaios
