Ormos Odyssea (Odysseus Bay)
39° 12.9′ N · 20° 29.0′ E · approximate
A small round bay of sand and dunes backed by pine forest, a mile south of Ammoudia, with a river at one end and a tiny boat harbour at the other. Calmer than its neighbours and good for a daytime swim stop.
Practical
Coordinate is approximate: placed in the water about 350 m west of the OSM beach polygon for Ormos tou Odyssea (centroid 39.21589N 20.48711E), on the line between the charted Ammoudia and Two Rocks anchorages; sound in. Plaisance Pratique treats it as a fair-weather anchorage only: open from SW through SE (and to all winds except N-NE). The little harbour is for local small boats and is not accessible to yachts. No depths or holding are published, so drop in sand clear of the swimmers and watch the depth as it shoals to the beach. Very busy with beachgoers in summer. Ashore the beach is unorganised, with two snack bars (Travelgo); road access is from Valanidorachi, the nearest village (OSM node at 39.22146N 20.51888E). The old name of the beach is Kerentza. The Necromanteion is about 7 km away by road.
