Seven Springs (Epta Piges)

36° 15.0′ N · 28° 7.6′ E · approximate

A green oasis inland from Kolymbia where seven springs feed a lake. You can wade the 150-metre Italian-built water tunnel to reach it.

Practical

Position approx: about 4 km west of Kolymbia along the Eucalyptus road, as Sailing Issues describes; derived, not surveyed. Greeka: about 26 km south of Rhodes town; the lake was created by the Italians in the 1920s to supply Kolymbia. Sailing Issues calls it a bird sanctuary well worth the visit. Walk from Kolymbia anchorage or take a taxi; the tunnel is narrow and wet underfoot.
