Kalymnos is one of the world's great sport-climbing destinations. Its limestone cliffs, tufas and stalactite caves rise straight behind Masouri and Myrties, often only minutes' walk from the road, looking out over Telendos.
Practical
The 2025 guidebook lists 4,216 sport routes, with GPS coordinates for each sector; buy it at panico.de or in Masouri shops. Bolts are maintained by local volunteers (rebolting log at reboltkalymnos.org). Mostly single-pitch, with some multi-pitch, including the newer Pericles sector on Telendos' south face. Instructors and guiding are available locally. Kalymnos Rescue Team: +30 6972236147, +30 6977639090, +30 6974380803. Crews can anchor off Telendos or berth in Pothia and take a taxi or bus across the island. Coordinate is Masouri beach.
