Limnionas Harbour (Kos)

36° 46.5′ N · 26° 57.8′ E

A tiny, shallow fishing harbour on the north side of the Kefalos peninsula, listed as all-round shelter by the guides but suitable only for shoal-draught boats.

Practical

2.5 m maximum and silted at the west and south of the basin; keep close to the green harbour light on entry (entrance over 30 m wide); a shoal lies near the taverna. Fishing boats have rights to the whole quay. Suitable for catamarans and yachts drawing under 1.5 m; one report has 2.2 m draught anchoring inside, but holding in weed is suspect (Sailing Issues, April 2024). The marker is Sailing Issues' 'ideal spot to anchor'. The taverna serves only in daytime; very quiet at night.

Best for

Season

Settled weather; shoal draught only
