Lakki anti-submarine nets (harbour entrance)

37° 6.8′ N · 26° 49.7′ E

Huge balls of metal rings from the anti-submarine net the Italians laid across the entrance to Lakki, still lying where they were left in WWII.

Practical

Diving on Greek wrecks is restricted: these are among the 91 modern wrecks the Culture Ministry listed in 2021 for organized, guided dives, so go with the local dive centre (Hydrovius, Krithoni) rather than independently from your yacht, and take nothing. Depth 39–43 m on the site page (the map pin says 40 m, deep/technical); aegeanislands.gr also describes the nets 'wrapped in huge balls' at the port entrance. Coordinate is the Hydrovius dive-map pin in the Lakki entrance channel, so watch for ferries and keep clear of the fairway.

Best for

Deep WWII dive at the harbour mouth
