Lakki floating metal buoy (WWII mooring buoy)

37° 7.3′ N · 26° 51.3′ E

A huge WWII metal buoy that once tied up warships, hovering over the seabed of Lakki Bay 'like a ghost flying disc', amid parts of the anti-submarine net and a seaplane float.

Practical

Diving on Greek wrecks is restricted: these are among the 91 modern wrecks the Culture Ministry listed in 2021 for organized, guided dives, so go with the local dive centre (Hydrovius, Krithoni) rather than independently from your yacht, and take nothing. Depth 39–43 m (Hydrovius). Hydrovius describes excellent visibility and rich marine life here. Coordinate is the Hydrovius dive-map pin, close to the Vasilissa Olga.

Best for

Deep, atmospheric WWII relic dive
