Gomati Bay (Lemnos)
39° 59.5′ N · 25° 9.1′ E
A sweeping north-coast bay backed by sand dunes and green hills — love at first sight for many crews.
Practical
Grecosailor: a submerged reef on the north-west side of the entrance, shown on charts as an islet, is not visible above water — enter with care. Chart depths inside were badly off (15 m found where 5 m charted). Mostly sand with plenty of room; excellent shelter from S and W, exposed to NE. Beach bar ashore (Gomati umbrella beach). The Ammothines dunes are a walk west.
Best for
North-coast anchorage for the sand dunes
Season
Southerlies or settled weather; untenable in NE
