German landing craft wreck (Strongyli islet)
37° 12.1′ N · 26° 49.6′ E
A German landing craft set on fire during the November 1943 assault next to Strongyli islet; grenades, weapons and a soldier's kit still lie in the sand around the hull, which is cut in half.
Practical
Diving on Greek wrecks is restricted: these are among the 91 modern wrecks the Culture Ministry listed in 2021 for organized, guided dives, so go with the local dive centre (Hydrovius, Krithoni) rather than independently from your yacht, and take nothing. Depth 14–28 m (Hydrovius site page; map pin 16 m; aegeanislands.gr says about 20 m), so it is suitable for Open Water divers. Coordinate is the Hydrovius dive-map pin off Leros' north coast.
