Chios Port of Entry — Port Police & Customs

38° 22.3′ N · 26° 8.5′ E · approximate

Chios Town is the island's only Port of Entry: the Port Police (Limenarchio) and Customs handle Schengen immigration, the Greek transit log (e-TL) and Turkish-bound departures here.

Practical

Call the Port Police on VHF 12 on approach and on departure (Noonsite, Feb 2025). CruisersWiki: Coast Guard and Customs are on the north side of the harbour and paperwork usually takes at most an hour. Coast Guard phone given by CruisersWiki: +30 22710 44432 (Chios); a travel directory lists the Port Authority at 22710 44433 — verify locally. Bring paper copies of all documents: a US skipper had his online-transferred radio licence questioned here in February 2025, so print digital boat papers. Non-EU crew must clear Schengen immigration; leaving for Çeşme requires formal clearance out. Position approximate: placed at the OSM ferry-terminal node on the north side of the harbour, matching CruisersWiki's description of the office location.
